With Easter Only 3 weeks away, it’s time to start making plans! One of the Easter favourites is camping, which means four days of sitting around the fire, continuously cooking your next meal, with a beer by your side. So how do you plan to stay active and healthy over your Easter camping trip?
Healthy Meal Ideas
Try wrapping meat and veggies in tin foil and placing on hot coals to cook. This eliminates the need to use oil.
Breakfasts
Muesli and yogurt
Toasted English muffin with egg, avocado, and baby spinach
Fruit Salad
Mexican Omelette – Omelette with salsa
Lunches
Chicken Caesar Salad/ Wraps
Grilled Chicken Burgers with tomato and lettuce
Chicken/ Tofu/ Prawn and vegetable shish kebabs
Grilled Crab and salad – Bonus if you caught the crab!
Dinners
Grilled Steak with Grilled carrot, sweet potato, and zucchini
Beef Stew with assorted veggies
Grilled fish with lemon, corn on the cob, and sweet potato fries
Silverside with boiled potato and grilled vegetables

Snacks
Veggies and Hummus or Tzatziki
Assorted Fruit
Pre-made raw vegan cake or slice – Like a caramel slice, or cheesecake (recipes are easily found online)
Homemade Apple Sauce – peel and core apple, wrap with cinnamon in tin foil, and throw in the fire until cooked!
Staying Active
Saying active while camping is easier than you may think. Here’s some ideas of ways to get your exercise!
Collect and chop fire wood
Run on the beach
Go for a hike
Workout on the beach – nothing better than the ocean breeze to cool you down!
Swim and play in the waves
Surf
Rock climbing/ abseiling (only if you’re qualified to do so)
