It’s funny how quickly motivation comes and goes.
You can be there eating a big mac, and a beautiful woman walks by. She’s all done up, in her beautiful clothes, and her amazing body, and as she struts by you can just tell that she’s got it all together. She’s in control, and she’s making things happen for herself. And in that moment, you’re instantly motivated to be like that. To have the amazing body, and the beautiful clothes. To be successful in life, and walk around like a boss.

Or you could be on a great streak with your workouts, feeling motivated and unstoppable. Then one morning you wake up feeling unrested and tired. You drag yourself through the day, and by the time you get home to do your workout, you’re just too tired. Before you know it, the entire week has gone by and you’ve done nothing!

The mind is a funny thing, it can be so determined on one path, and then all of a sudden, with no warning, just switch directions. The trick here is to not let those direction switches be debilitating. Use your motivational ups to your advantage, but don’t go overboard. Otherwise you’ll quickly burn out, and be right back where you started. And don’t let your motivational downs keep you down. Don’t beat yourself up, just get up and keep going like it never happened.

It’s important to try and keep yourself motivated, because, let’s face it, we’re more productive when we’re motivated! If you need some ideas on how to motivate yourself, check out my post here. Or follow me on Instagram @laurawaterman19!
