Massive Flavour, Small Impact! Spice Up Your Food!

The trick to staying on track with a healthy diet is to keep a good variety with food, and keep it tasting yummy! There’s nothing worse than eating the same bland meals over and over. Try adding these ingredients to your meals to spice up the flavour without adding too much sodium or calories!

Vinegar

Vinegar has heaps of flavour, and there’s so many different kinds! Balsamic is a favourite on salads, or try a splash red wine vinegar in your next tomato sauce. You can also use vinegar instead of soy sauce (which has crazy amount of sodium) on your sushi or rice paper rolls.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a great flavour to add to many dishes! Use it as a salad dressing, on grilled fish, on steamed vegetables, and add it to your water! It will give any bland food that punch it needs to bring your taste buds to life!

Curry Powder

To give your food a slightly hotter punch, try adding some curry powder! Stir it in to your stir-fry, sprinkle it onto your fish or chicken before cooking, or even add it to mashed potatoes!

Cinnamon

Want to take your bland yogurt to a place that feels naughty? Just add some cinnamon! Sprinkle some cinnamon over your fruit salad for a change, or even to your scrambled eggs! Cinnamon is also known as an aphrodisiac, so who knows, you might end up burning even more calories!

Mustard

A yummy Dijon, or Hot English is great on many things. Spread a little over a chicken breast, or add a dollop into your next stir-fry. Make a mustard vinaigrette for your salad, or mix some in to your mashed potatoes for something different.
