So yesterday I had my last free Personal Training Session with a woman named Alex. It went really well, and I’ve decided to keep going with her. She’s so fun and I feel like we have a lot in common, and I’m so excited to be working with her!
Once I decided to continue, she took me into a back room and took all of my measurements with calipers. I think most people would find this daunting, but it was exciting for me. I remember back in high school gym class, the teacher said she was going to do this with us so we could all know out body fat percentage. But when the day came to do it, she told us that it wasn’t going to happen because the school was worried about the psychological effect it may have on some of the girls. To finally get this done is exciting for me. I don’t know what my stats are yet because she hasn’t done the calculations, but next week I’ll find out!
She also took all of my measurements, and my before pictures, which were extremely unflattering, but I guess that’ll just make the change look so much bigger! Over the next week she’ll be developing a workout routine for me for 6 days a week at the gym. This will be really helpful I think. Instead of just showing up and doing some random exercises, I’ll know exactly what I need to do, how much of it I need to do, and the weights I need to be using. It’ll also keep me accountable when she asks me during our weekly sessions if I’ve been keeping up with my plan.
Alex trains women for body building competitions as well, so she really knows what she’s doing, and her Facebook page, Diamond Body Babes, shows how the women she’s training are transforming. It’s so inspiring!
