There are many different meal plans and diets one can follow to lose weight. Cutting carbs is very popular, but it can be really difficult for a carb lover like me. When I’m trying to cut carbs, I find that tricking myself by eating carb-like foods really helps to keep me on track. Check out the three options below for some ideas to help keep you on track!
Low Carb Bread – Homemade from ground almonds, this bread has the heavy consistency of banana bread. It’s great toasted with a little butter. Make sure to pre-slice and then freeze it though, as it molds after a couple days in the cupboard. (click the link for a recipe)

Slendier Pasta – These noodles can be found in the health food section of many supermarkets. They are a translucent white colour and are made from some root. They have almost no calories, and no carbs, and they come in spaghetti, rice, and lasagna sheets. They take a little getting used to, and smell a little fishy when you open the bag, but just rinse them off and they’re fine.
Per Serve: 8 Calories, <0.1g Carbs

Cauliflower Rice – If you grate up cauliflower just enough so that it’s still grainy, it has the consistency of rice. From there, press it in a tea towel to remove extra moisture, and saute with a little oil, and there you go, low carb rice!
Per Cup: 25 Calories, 5.3g Carbs, 0.1g Fat

Give these low carb replacements a go and see which ones you like!
