Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick Review

I recently bought the Better than Sex Waterproof mascara from Too Faced, and I absolutely fell in love! Stay tuned for a review on that.

So when I went hunting for a red matte liquid lipstick, I was so excited to find that Too Faced sold one! I bought it straight away, in the colour “Lady Balls”. Fitting for a brand that sells “Better than Sex” mascara! It was $30 at Mecca Maxima, a price my cheap ass is willing to pay for what I assumed would be as high performing as their products I’ve bought previously.

I put it on at 6:30 am for work. I know, a pretty bold look for that time in the morning, but it was time to put this to the test! Application was just as I’d expect a liquid lipstick to be, and once it dried, it felt like I wasn’t wearing anything, much more comfortable than cheaper ones that I’ve bought.

I went about my day as usual, and things were fine, expect I was experiencing more transfer off of my lips than I’d expected. This definitely isn’t a no-smudge, no-transfer lipstick. Then 12 pm rolled around and I looked in the mirror. The crisp lines that I had creating in the morning were starting to blur.

By 1:30pm it was a mess. I was starting to look like Ronald McDonald. My lips were still beautifully red, but so was the skin around my lips!

When it came time to take the lipstick off that evening, Micellar Water worked a treat. There was a little pink residue left over, but another quick once-over with the Micellar Water did the trick.

 

The Verdict

Great for short term wear. Beautiful Colour, and Comfortable.

Not great for all day wear, unless you want to look like a street walker that hasn’t slept in days by the evening. And I wouldn’t trust it on a night out. I’m 110% sure I would come home to find it smudged all over my face.
